T&A surgery
Alexis hasn't ever been a very good sleeper. Always rolling around, up a few times a night and a snorer. Hasn't ever been too sick. A few weeks ago she had tonsillitis and our doctor thought we should go see the ear, nose and throat doctor for a second opinion. He said she had really big tonsils and he would do the surgery. We agreed it needed to be done. We were surprised when they said he had an opening the next week. So, yesterday was the day. She was in very good spirits(I really don't think she understood what was going to happen)
We arrived and they had her get into her cute little hospital jammies(still in good spirits)
They said she could take mamma kitty into the OR with her, so they put an arm band on her:)
They wheeled her away and within the hour she was back in her room out of the post surgical room. She was a real trooper! The doc said she did great and the tonsils were huge(we were even sent home a picture of them), the adenoids were take out too. She was very sore and out of it when we walked in her room. After a little extra medicine she was feeling a little better.
A few hours later still sore but she tried to eat a little jello
nothing tasted good to her though. She was able to drink enough water and have enough ice chips that they let her come home. We were to wake her a few times throughout the night to give her her meds and have her drink water. She did fine with that. Today she seemed a little better but still hasn't drank a lot of fluids. She did try to eat a little mac and cheese tonight. That didn't go so well, it gave her a belly ache. So she realizes that sherbet and applesauce may have to do for a few days. I have been told by many people that the 7-12 days are the hardest, I'm not looking forward to that! And as the nurse reminded her many times. Drink, Drink, Drink, Medicine. That's all she needs to do to stay out of the hospital!Thursday, October 15, 2009
7th Birthday Party
Alexis wanted to have a birthday party at a hotel this year. There was a new one that just opened in our town and we decided to try it out. She wanted to invite a few friends along with family.

When I looked outside and saw this, it made me feel bad for all those farmers! Snow on the ground, trees and on the corn! This is just not right!

Our little girl is 7!!!
On Tuesday Alexis turned seven! I brought her into school so she didn't have to ride the bus, and to help her bring her cupcakes and strawberries in for snack time. She had a great day at school. Grandma went and had lunch with her(atleast she tried to have lunch with her), when grandma arrived someone forgot to order her lunch. So she ended up just watching Alexis eat. But was able to have cupcakes with the class after lunch. Aunt Kelly picked her up from school and brought her to Target to pick out her birthday present. She ended up with a DVD and a cat which Alexis can't get enough of! It meows and purrs when you pet it. It's really cute:) They both had a fun time. Then they met us at Perkins(Alexis request) for her birthday dinner.
Here's the cat from Kelly and the riding boots and riding pants we gave her
Aunt Kelly
Grandma and GrandpaWe also found out today that Alexis will be getting her tonsils taken out next Thursday. We are hoping everything goes well. She doesn't know yet what is going on. She may have a panic attack if we tell her. I'm looking forward to it being done!!

Ouch, Ouch and Ouch(Hand, Foot and Mouth)!
Atleast we know what kind of virus it is. See those white spots in the back of his throat
Fun at the Fire Station
On Saturday, Jason took the kids to the fire station. Where they were having a fire safety afternoon for the kids and parents. They got to do a lot of fun things including wearing our friend Ryan's, fire hat! Alexis said it was very heavy:)
They were able to sit in the fire truck
Take a picture with sparky the fire dog
Then they both got to spray the fire hose
It looks like they had a great time! Brayden is still dressing up with his hat.
While they were having fun at the fire station me and my mom were enjoying a scrapbook day at my SIL's house. We were all very productive and we all decided we need to try to get together once a month. So we can get up to date on our pictures. I finished up my clients digital book last week and its on order. Our house is still up for sale. We have had a few showings and great feedback on a couple of them. Which is very promising! Hoping for an offer soon:)(Fingers crossed anyways!)
The kids have both been sick. Alexis had tonsillitis last week and we got the talk from the doctor about seeing the ears, nose and throat doctor. I brought Brayden in this morning because he's been complaining about his throat being sore on and off for the last week. I looked in his mouth yesterday and saw these white spots and immediately thought, strep. However, the white spots according to the doc we saw are just from a virus and are lesions from the virus! They look like they hurt, ouch!!
Tomorrow my baby girl is going to be 7!! Seriously where did that time go?! We will be having her birthday party on Sunday, but are planning on taking her out for supper tomorrow night.
Wednesday she will have her check up and get her flu shot(along with Brayden if they let him get it). That should be interesting:)
