We have been very busy moving, closing on the old place, working, closing on the new place a week later, painting(getting rid of a really bad green), cleaning, painting trim and doors, Thanksgiving, painting(getting rid of more old icky colors), replacing many little things(door knobs, receptacles and covers, light fixtures etc.), cleaning, moving, working, and getting ready for the holidays… Plus we have no Internet at our new home so I haven’t had any time or energy to update all of you. Sorry to keep you waiting so long! Our two moves went well and we had a TON of help with everything. Especially my Dad and my SIL Kelly who came daily for a full week plus some, to help us get things done so we could move in. I don’t know how we could ever repay family and friends for all the help they have done! Thank you, Thank you and Thank you again:) Now to the new home:)
We are so happy living out here in the middle of no where! We watch the birds eat from the bird feeders daily, watch squirrels, bunnies and stray cats walk around. So far there have been no spotting of deer but I’m sure that will be coming soon. I drive Alexis to a bus stop and pick her up there also. The Bus company has been very hard to deal with and that is a story all itself that I won’t get into! So far that is the only bad thing about living here! The cats have adjusted pretty well in the new home. They LOVE watching the birds. They do still jump every time someone opens a door. The fish haven’t been as lucky! Our first move to my parents they did really well and we didn’t loose any of them. The second move two weeks later was a lot more stressful on them. Some of them ended up getting something called ICK(A fungus) which has affected the whole tank. I waited to treat them for it for a week and finally gave in and put the treatment in. Now we have lost two of them and may loose a few more if not a lot more. Hopefully they will calm down in the next few weeks and we won’t have to flush any more! I guess it kind of sounds silly to talk about fish like that but they are our pets:) I guess that’s it for now, on to the before and after pictures…( I will post our move and after our move pictures in a separate update)Toy Room Before:There was a flower border in this room we took down, I don’t have any pictures of the room before we took it down. The solar system curtain is hiding an electrical box. The curtain came from a different room in the house, I was going to use it. Once we painted and took all our stuff out of storage I found our atlas shower curtain, that was in the old toy room, and hung that up instead. We also had to repaint the doors white.
Brayden was helping Aunt Kelly this day by texting and answering her phone, while she worked away on the room.
Here is the After:
The artwork in between the kids names came from Korea
Extra Bedroom Before: We primed the walls twice and then painted twice, along with repainting all the white trim and doors white
After: We used Alexis old bedding in this room because we switched her to a twin size bed instead of the full size one which we will use in this room for guests.
Brayden’s Room Before:There was a border in his room that was taken down, All the white trim and doors had to be repainted along with the walls.
After:
Oops, out of order, mom painting his closet
Alexis Room Before: We allowed Alexis to pick out her paint color, We weren’t really expecting her to pick out the brightest pink she could find
After: It did calm down a bit when you put all her stuff in the room!Kids Bathroom Before: We haven’t done anything to the walls in here. We did repaint all the doors and trim white. My Dad did a lot of work in this room. The cabinet was a light blue color and once we took the doors off and drawers out. He decided he could make some new doors and fronts for the cabinet(which turned out looking great!) We also painted the whole cabinet white.

Living Room: We didn't do much to this room. We took down the dirty white trim and had dad stain and varnish it the color of the window and door trim. I don't have a after picture yet

Along with washing away the dirt and grime you can’t see, Ick it was bad
Taking a break to eat food my mom made us.
Jason painting above the closet in the entry way of the house.
Extra Bathroom: We tore down the wallpaper, painted with special stinky post wallpaper primer. Started trimming with yellow paint and decided it wasn’t going to work and then repainted with a tan. Also added a new light fixture

Office/Massage Room:
Master bathroom before: Saved one of the best for last! We removed everything we could. Including the wallpaper, wall hangings, fixtures and the aroma.
