After an hour or so we got back in the car and drove down to San Diego. Where the navy ships come in. We saw a few pirate ships...
and a submarine while we were there.
we also ate a little bit and did a little shopping at the mall. Then we were on our way home.

Day #2- January 30th

Saturday morning arrived and brought us a beautiful sunny day. It was in the mid 60's.
The kids were begging to go in the pool. Jeff started up the heater and it wasn't warming up very quickly. Meanwhile the kids were dipping their toes, hands and heads in the 59 degree pool water. He started to warm up the hot tub which warmed up within a half hour. The kids and Kayla hanging out by the pool.
Jason relaxed in the sun while reading.
When the hot tub was warm enough the three little ones hopped in. While Jeff, Sydney and Jason watched. Jena and I did a little grocery shopping.

Leaving on a jet plane...

For Christmas we bought the kids airplane tickets to visit their Aunt Jena, Uncle Jeff and Cousins Kayla, Sydney and Tyler in California. They were very excited to go. I heard no worries or complaints until the morning we were to fly out. Alexis had a stomach ache, so much that she was sick, from anxiety. We made it to the airport with plenty of time to watch the planes take off and land, and buy some very expensive airport food(because I didn't have time to feed anyone before we left home).
Alexis decided that Brayden was getting the window seat. He loved it!
While getting up to altitude Alexis decided that flying wasn't so bad!
We were able to see a few mountain peaks on the way to San Diego:)
We arrived almost 30 minutes early to the sun going down over the ocean. We stepped out of the airport and enjoyed the 60 degree air:) Jeff picked us up and whisked us away to their home in Poway.

Outside our doors(and a few inside)

Long time no post...I will start off with a few pictures from around our house. There is so much I could write about but I will let the pictures do the talking, until I get the blog up to date.
We got lots of snow around Christmas and the the snowmobiles were buried.
The fallen down tree was covered
The cats love watching the birds
and Bella tries to catch them
A few weeks ago we had so much frost everything looked all wintery again.
The trees were covered in frost
The birds left some tracks on the sidewalk
and the cats that run around the area did also
A cardinal friend
and a squirrel
along with a bluejay
We also have had this golden squirrel
who must have been really hungry the way he was trying to get the food out of the feeder

Snow fun

Christmas time brought us lots and lots of snow. It snowed for at least three days straight, with only a few hours of breaks inbetween. The snow was so deep the kids had a super hard time walking to the snowhill out back.
Brayden in the sunset
Brayden crashed on his face, a few times.
Walking to the hill
They made it. Once the hill was smashed down a bit they were able to slide fast down it.

Christmas with the Bottkes and misc.

We hosted Christmas this year for Jason's side of the family. Christmas Day was a very wet day. It had snowed for three days and then is started raining because it was so warm. Then a few hours later it cooled down and everything became a skating rink. In spite of that everyone made it down to our home safe. We spent a little time outside in the rainy snow, sliding and laughing.
The kids received a horse tire swing from Aunt Kelly and Aunt Jen's families. They can't wait for spring when we can get it in the tree.
A few days after Christmas we went to Aunt Kellys house to see the cousins. A harmless Brayden started playing with a clothes pin and...
ended up like this, after Adam got ahold of it.
and it was only fair that Brayden got to do it to him...
On New Years Day they came out again and Mitch and Adam were ready for a horse race.
Not sure which one won. But they were all giggling at the end. So much fun!
