Where does the time go?

I can't believe it is already Sunday night! This last week has been a very busy one.

Alexis has been keeping us busy between ball and gymnastics. I also started setting up for my garage sale on Wednesday. It took me all day(the kids loved it because we were outside all day) then I worked. Thursday in between running around town and sports I kept setting up.

Friday was the sale and it went pretty good! There was a steady amount of people coming and I didn't even advertise it. Just the signs on the road. Friday night we had Auntie Kelly and her family out to the lake. Alexis had to water ski for them she was upset when we stopped her after I would say 10 minutes. After skiing Jason grilled and we had a campfire. Which also included yummy smores:) It was a late night and then we got up early and continued the garage sale for a few hours. It went OK but I got rid of some bigger items which was wonderful.

We were off to the cities by noon. Jason's niece got married and we were staying in a hotel. The kids were able to swim a little bit before the 4:00 wedding. The wedding was really nice and pretty short too. Off to the reception. Brayden and Alexis didn't have a nap and were very tired but kept getting there second winds throughout the night! When we arrived the kids were intrigued by the gifts at the tables. There were little boxes of a bride and a groom. Inside were little tubes of playdoh and candle also some had chocolates and other little toys. That was really nice and kept the kids busy for the wait for the food. When it was time to eat the kids got there own plates of food. Chicken strips, french fries and Oreo cookies. How cool is that! By 8:45 Brayden was about ready to collapse:) For the last hour he had been fighting sleep. He was playing playdoh and then would catch himself closing his eyes and then wanted more cold water or he would want to get up and walk around:) i finally grabbed him and he fell asleep in my arms and we laid him in between some chairs to sleep on:)

Alexis and daddy had a fun time dancing. I think we left around 11:00 and Alexis and daddy went to the pool for a swim!:) After her 30 second nap in the car she was ready to go and didn't want the night to end. Everyone was back by 12:30 or so and we went down to the bar to hang out with them. So much fun!

This morning was filled with more swimming and a wonderful breakfast which was included in with the hotel. After the gift opening we were headed to the lake. Brayden fell asleep within a few minutes and had a short nap. When we got there we realized it was very windy so we went home an hour or so later and we all crashed. I guess Brayden didn't he was wide awake and ready to play. 2 hours later it was hard to scrape myself off the couch by I did:)

Another busy week is ahead of us! Pictures to follow:)

Last night was Alexis' first day of beginer ball. She had a fun time. She was a bit nervous at first but she walked right up when they called her name and listened very well to the instructors. They received t-shirts which were big:) She will grow into it someday. She has this on Tuesday and Thursday nights for 45 minutes. It lasts until the end of July. So she wil be staying very busy this summer. She also has gymnastics on Thursdays during the day this month and also in August. Here are a few pictures from last night.

Fathers Day!

We had a fun day today. The weather was gorgeous! It was a bit breezy but the sun was shinning and I actually got to lay in it! It felt so nice:)

We let daddy sleep in this morning while me and the kids were hard at work cooking pancakes for a special fathers day breakfast. Alexis and Brayden finished up making their cards for him and grandpa. We bought daddy a new dress shirt, tie and belt for his nieces wedding next Saturday. It looked different on him i have never seen him in that color before so it looked a bit strange at first. OK to tell you the truth, I still don't know if I like it but he took the tags off and there is no taking it back now. I'll post pictures after the wedding so you can see what he looks like:) I'll give you a hint it's my favorite color and it matches my dress well!

We hung out in the morning and then were off to a Graduation Party for my cousin Kyle who graduated from High School. We spent the afternoon in the city. We were home by 6:00 or so and just relaxed after that.

Here are the cards I made for Jason and my dad:)
Hope you had a great day!

Our Canadian fishing trip

Dad, Brian, Chris and I had a wonderful time on our fishing trip. It was a long drive up to the resort but well worth it. The fishing started out a bit slow(actually the first night was great) but by the last day the fish were practically jumping in the boat:) We had a few problems with the boat. The engine was not working correctly but someone helped us with that and then the battery for the trolling motor died on us. So we borrowed one from the resort. Other than that we didn't have any major problems. This is a new resort to us. The weather was nice the first few days. The sun was out at least. Wednesday the rain was coming down and it was cooler but we still went out fishing. This is the day Chris caught his big fish. Thursday was cloudy but it didn't rain. We had a wood burning stove in the cabin and it worked wonderful. It got so hot in the cabin we had to open the windows and door. Here are the pictures and little bit about each one, ENJOY:

Our first sign of Canada. This is at a gas station before we crossed the border

Are we there yet? It was nice to have Chris' GPS from his big rig. This way we knew when we would be arriving. It took us 11 hours to get to the resort. 14 miles left at this point!

The sign on the fish cleaning house

This was our cabin. Or the red barn as we called it. As you walked into the cabin it dropped down to the left. We were only a little afraid of a wind storm! Since it rested on small 4x4 pieces of wood. We did get a discount because we were in the only cabin that hasn't been remodeled.

The boat is in the water, lets go fishing!

Dad and I on the way to the fishing spot

Our first catch! Yummy, we were able to catch fish the first night and eat them for supper:)

Here come the fish pictures:

This is the biggest fish of the trip. Chris caught a 41 inch Northern. It was a lot of fun watching this one come in! This one went back into the water.

Here is dads 36 inch Northern. We decided to keep this one. Oh and it was delicious!

The biggest I caught was a 23 inch Walleye

Brian caught a tree branch I took a picture as it was coming up out of the water:) He did catch a bunch of fish too but for some reason no pictures were taken with him and the fish.

The only picture of the four of us. This is the inside of the cabin. Wasn't it beautiful:) It was a different shade of green. We played Euchre almost every night. Dad and I creamed the boys!

Every day we saw planes taking off and landing on the water. There was an airport very close to camp.

Nature:

Here is a seagull that flew right next to us onto a rock waiting to eat our bait.

This is a beaver but you can't tell! You should have heard him slap the water. It was really neat.

This is a loon sitting on it's nest

This is a pair of loons swimming around their bay

We had to stop at the watering hole a few times:)
This is dad and Brian

This is at the watering hole Chris is standing on a tree that a beaver cut down onto an old cabin.

All done fishing and on the way home. We had a little trouble with the boat cover. We had to stop on the side of the road and take it off because the strap broke off.

We found out on the way home that there had been a lot of rain in northern Minnesota and Ontario area. There were roads closed and we had to detour and also roads that were covered in water. There was a lot of fixing of ditches and water all over the place.

This is a place where we stopped by Grand Marais this is suppose to be a little creek running into Lake Superior
Here is a video dad took of it. It was so loud! They received about 5 inches of rain the night before!

It's June already?

I know it has been a while since I have updated. We just got back from Canada late Friday night. I promised I would add pictures from Alexis' last day of preschool. So I will do that now and I am also adding a couple pictures of her and I fishing off the dock before I left for Canada. I am hoping to put the pictures from Canada up tomorrow we will see how much time I have. We took a bunch of pictures and had lots of fun! Be ready for a picture parade when I get the time. Off to bed now:)

This is the first fish she took off her hook. She was so very proud of herself as was I!
